Thai Airways to cut May flight frequencies across domestic and international routes

Thai Airways International (THAI) will reduce flight frequencies across its network in May 2026, covering domestic services as well as routes in ASEAN, North Asia, South Asia, and Europe, citing rising fuel costs and weaker passenger demand during the off-peak travel season.

The adjustments reportedly reflect continued pressure from high operating costs alongside a seasonal slowdown in travel demand. Domestically, flights on several routes will be reduced, including Bangkok–Khon Kaen, Bangkok–Udon Thani, and Bangkok–Ubon Ratchathani.

In ASEAN, services such as Bangkok–Phnom Penh and Bangkok–Singapore will also be cut. In North Asia, reductions include key routes to Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai, Seoul, Taipei, and Hong Kong, while the Bangkok–Kaohsiung route will be suspended during the period.

In South Asia, Bangkok–Hyderabad, Bangkok–Delhi, and Bangkok–Mumbai services will be scaled back. European routes, including Istanbul, Frankfurt, Munich, Copenhagen, Oslo, and Stockholm, will also see reduced frequencies throughout May - Thai Enquirer

Saudi Arabia is set to welcome up to 130 million tourists set to spend an estimated 300 billion riyals ($80 billion) this year, as the industry rapidly expands after barely existing just six years ago, the country’s tourism minister said in an interview. The new figures put Saudi well on track to meet its 2030 goals of 150 million tourist trips annually, which includes domestic travelers, Ahmed Al Khateeb, the minister responsible for the industry, told Semafor. The kingdom is “not slowing down” investments into tourism infrastructure despite the government “reprioritizing” some of its spending commitments amid a period of low oil prices, he added. Tourism in Saudi Arabia is “growing faster than any other G20 country, and I think that will continue for the next few years until we get our fair share.” The country had 116 million tourist visits last year, including domestic and international travel, with spending totaling 284 billion riyals. Cashless payments eased for visitors to china
