New ITA schedule features flights from Rome to Chicago, Toronto, Middle East & Africa

ITA Airways is introducing new destination flights for the 2024 Summer are officially on sale. This will be a year of continued expansion for ITA Airways on the long haul, one of the main pillars of the airline's strategy, as it not only generates profitability but also increases the short haul, helping to double the capacity of the intercontinental network. 

ITA Airways will inaugurate nonstop flights from North America, Africa, and the Middle East to its Rome Fiumicino hub. Below is the operating schedule of the new flights:

·        Chicago – Rome Fiumicino operating from 7 April 2024, with 6 weekly frequencies that will become 7 from June.

·        Toronto – Rome Fiumicino from 10 May 2024, with 6 weekly frequencies becoming 7 from June to September and 5 in October.

·        Riyad – Rome Fiumicino from 6 May 2024 with 4 weekly frequencies, rising to 5 from June.

·        Accra – Rome Fiumicino from 7 June 2024 with 3 weekly frequencies becoming 4 from July.

·        Kuwait City – Rome Fiumicino from 8 June 2024with 3 weekly frequencies that will become 5 from July.

·        Jeddah – Rome Fiumicino from August 2024 with 3 weekly frequencies.

The new intercontinental routes from Chicago and Toronto will be operated with the Airbus A330neo and Airbus A330-200. The new flights from Riyad, Accra, Kuwait City and Jeddah will be operated with the Airbus A321neo.

On the Rome to Toronto route, ITA will be going head to head with Air Canada, which operates flights every other day from Fiumicino. Both are members of competing alliance networks.

The new Accra – Rome route is ITA Airways’ only direct flight from Ghana to Italy and marks a first step for the Company in establishing connections between West Africa and Italy, a key destination for both leisure and corporate traffic flows.

Distinctive elements of the new A321neo include the Airspace Cabin with new colors and materials, l state-of-the-art seats, new ITA Airways customized interior lighting and XL overhead bins. In addition, each seat is equipped with the latest-generation "on-demand" video and audio entertainment system, 17.3'' (Business), 15.6'' (Premium Economy) and 13.3'' (Economy) low reflectivity and 4K resolution touchscreens for a simple, smooth, and intuitive user experience.

The new flights are available for purchase on all ITA Airways channels, through the official itaairways.com website, the Company’s Contact Center, travel agencies and airport ticket offices.
